WINTER IS ON IT'S WAY.....

The evenings are starting to cool off here in California, and the days are still plenty warm. Before you know it we will be eating Turkey Dinner and opening Christmas Presents. That is after we get back from our Stamping Cruise - I am counting the weeks.
First card:Stamps: My Favorite Things
Copics: BV000, BV02, YG01, E000, E01, Blender Pen
Copics: Airbrushed background B000
Cardstock & Ribbon: Bo Bunny
Other: ultra fine Glitter & glue pen, adhesive
Spellbinders: Circle Die & Large Scallop Die

This beautiful winter cardstock by Bo Bunny has been screaming "play with me", since it arrived in the mail. I pulled out this stamp set by My Favorite Things and thought it was a perfect match. The scarf was extra fun by randomly adding soft broken lines of Green and Lavender ink to form a soft plaid design.

Second Card:
Stamps: Our Craft Lounge
Copics: G20, G82, G85, R22, R24, R29, E30, E33, YR21, YR24, YR21, YR24, blender pen
Other: Black Atyou Spica, foam tape, twine,
Cardstock: My Yellow Bicycle
Dies: Sizzix -
When this new paper by My Yellow Bicycle arrived, I knew I wanted to pair it up with this darling stamp set by OCL. I stamped the images and colored them with my Copics, then cut and popped them up on foam tape. Added a bit of twine and here is the result. I love this fun and playful card. Note that I used my R22 first on th sleigh then came in from the sides with R24 & R29.. then blended out with my lighter colors. Same with the deer.... I colored them with E30, then added E33 and blended out with E30. Same technique with the presents to leave a lighter look at the top, you may even want to leave some white space like I did on several of the presents and leaves.
Tip: Each time you add a layer of ink the color will appear darker. This is because the paper is becoming more and more saturated with color. It will continue to darken as you add layers of ink until the image is almost as dark as your marker nib. If you want to blend your image without adding color, try using a marker one or two shades lighter. This will add liquid to smooth out your image without adding more color. Don't use your blender pen to blend colors.

A million Thanks

Just got back from a Mills Repco trade show in Oakland. Not only did I get to make some really great new friends, I also learned a few new techniques that I just can't wait to teach in my October classes... Whew hew.
For now i thought i would post a simple card made with my Copics and a stamp set from Hero Arts "A Million Thanks" to Mills Repco for a great weekend.
Hello to all of my new and old friends. Els from Elizabeth Crafts and Donna Salazar were so fun. I really feel that I have new friends for life.
Hero Arts was at the show, so I thought I should use one of their stamp sets to say thanks to the entire Mills Repco Gang.... it was fun.. see most of in Buena Park and Portland - Can hardly wait.
card: hero Arts Stamp set, copics YR21, YR23, YR24, G20, G82, G85, E33, E30. One flower is popped up with a foam dot. Very basic simple fun card.

Austin takes his written Pilot's test Saturday!

My son takes his written Pilot's license test this Saturday. This card is for him. I am so proud of him. Not many kids at age 16 are ready to test for their Pilot's license. He plans on getting his full Private License on his 17th Bday in October. He has been flying since age 13.
Way to go Austin... as the card says...
If You Can Dream it, You can do it... good luck.

I love you.

Three Fun Cards.....

Hello,
Well, I just discovered Kenny K images on Sunday... I must say they are darn cute. I could not wait to color this guy... Is he the coolest.... I actually colored him on the plane ride home from New Mexico. The ride was REAL bumpy but I just couldn't wait to play with this fun image.

I colored him with my Copics and added a bit of Glossy Accents to the instruments and some Copic Spica pen to the teeth.. gotta have shinny teeth!
colors used, E30, E33, E35, B91, B93, B95, C00, C02, C03, YR04, Y06 and a few other misc. colors.
