Copic and Puppy....

But Mommie,
I was only trying to get "one" to chew on, then the whole box dumped over. Does that mean I can chew them all... or is this another case of IT'S A GOOD THING I AM CUTE?

lol... I only sat the box on the pillow for a minute while I made the bed so I could color while relaxing on the bed.. Instead I guess I get to clean up a mess.. but it was worth the laugh! I had to share...

Hugs!

And a big THANK YOU from Marci and Luka too!

DETAILS FOR MY CARD: This card was so fun to make. I chose the Cowgirl Marci, used Creative Imaginations Debbie Mum paper for my background by cutting out the images from the paper and glueing them on to the ground that I made by tearing cardstock. How fun is that! Layered cardstock and tied a bow out of twine...

Techniques used: Texturized image, paper tearing, paper piecing from printed paper.

I texturized the skirt by adding Copic Blending Solution to a piece of denim then dabbing the skirt after it was colored. Because the Blending solution is the solvent for the Copic ink, it faded the images in places where the nap of the fabric was thicker. Making a great denim look on the skirt! How fun! Whew Hew - give it a try.

YESTERDAY'S POST ALSO HAS SOME GREAT NEW IMAGES...... CHECK IT OUT!

La La Land Stamps - Coloring Black with Copics

COLORING BLACK WITH COPICS......
What better holiday than Halloween to learn to color with BLACK. Coloring with black is similar to coloring with any other color. However, you must use grays to get the highlights, midtones and shading to give your image volume rather than a black blob. Black ink also has a lot of dye particles so
it bleeds fast.. Here are a few tips to remember while coloring with black.

1. Do not over soak your paper.
2. Correcting dark colors might make a bigger mess if you try to add blender.
3. Use three values to get a highlight 1-3, Midtone 4-6, Shading 7-10
4. Do not over use darkest color which will
hide the artist's rendering or stamped lines.
5. If you bleed outside the lines too much,
consider shadows or cutting your image out and pasting it onto your project.
6. When coloring black hair sometimes it is fun to add a light lavender or blue.

First color your entire image with your highlight (you may want to leave some white space for an intense highlight). Now add your second color or your midtone
. Blend these two colors together using your first or lightest color. Now add in your shading color or darkest color in the areas that would be somewhat shaded or further from your eye or light source (ie: the sides of the leg are further away than the center of the leg). Blend your darkest and midtone colors with your midtone color. If your midtone is too dark to blend with use one or two values lighter than your midtone to blend your two darkest colors. IE: if your midtone is an N6 use an N5 or N4 to blend your two darkest
colors together.

We will be making these three fun fold cards at Scrapbooking Made Simple in Santa Clarita, CA next month.. CALL STORE FOR DETAILS ASAP.. CLASSES WILL SELL OUT!

Shop Hop at Collective Journey...... Gift Card Make & Take directions

Collective Journey, this is where my Copic Teaching World started. Although I had been teaching card making for well over 10 years, this is where I taught my first Copic Card class and I have never looked back... It was an awesome stepping stone to a great career. I was teaching a make and take at Collective Journey (CJ) on Sunday. Here are a few of my bestest friends and students Debbie & Leslie who joined in the fun. These two have been with me since my very first Copic class....Love you guys! Of course they wanted to meet Bugsie, so this was the day she got to meet all my CJ friends. Leslie has asked me to bring her to all classes so she can babysit... well, we will see.... puppy sitting would cut into her coloring time! lol.

This make and take is amazing easy and allows newbies to experience several different techniques and Copic products. Although the Stamp set by Our Craft Lounge includes a darling leaf in the set, we chose to draw our own to practice using the multi-liner.... great fun. The dots in the background are done using the brush tips of the Copic markers.

details listed below.
Stamp Set: Our Craft Lounge "Whispy Blooms" (avail here)
Leaves: hand drawn with multi-liner
Dots: made with Copic markers (same col
ors as image)
Copic: RV00, RV09, RV23, YG21, YG17, YG21, YG17, Y15, Y38 (random color choices on this card... LOL).

Directions for card base: Cut cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2 (half sheet), fold. then on the fold mark your card in one inch from each side. Align the card into your pa
per trimmer from the mark to the bottom of your card and cut. Repeat on each side of your purse. Add a top by cutting a separate piece of cardstock (black) into a 5" x 2" strip. Fold making it 5" x 1" slip over the folded edge of white card and adhere to both sides. punch holes add ribbon and then use corner chomper to round lower corners. Easy peasy and fun! Great for a gift card.
